Rochelle Matos
Birth Doula + Childbirth Educator

Rochelle believes that giving birth is a powerful event in our lives.  It is the first time we see our child face to face.  It is a hormonal wave of joy, excitement and energy.  It is about bonding and loving and rejoicing.  Rochelle wants every family to embrace this moment and to treasure the days and weeks that follow.

Rochelle works to educate couples on the natural process and how to make decisions that are best for them and their circumstances.  She also has extensive training as a Childbirth Educator since 2007 and DONA Certified Doula since 2010 and Certified Lactation Counselor since 2016.  Finally, she draws from the experiences of her own six births, which vary from home to hospital, land to water, emergency to well-assisted.

The motto: “WithLove” stems from the verse in Scripture found in 1 John 4:19 “We Love, because He first loved us.”  Rochelle’s strength originates from her love of the Lord as she cares for families in MN.  Her Mission is to LOVE families in the intimate and important moments of pregnancy, birth & postpartum.

Let’s Meet
If we haven't met, the first step is to schedule a time to talk and get to know one another.
Contact me to schedule a meeting.

2 Prenatal Education & Preparation Meetings*
We meet around 32 weeks and again at week 36, at these meetings we talk about your birth plan, comfort measures, talk about your concerns, special requests, practice a relaxation technique together and answer questions you may have.  *When hired after 32 weeks, we will do one combined prenatal.

24/7 Text, Phone & Email Support

Support in your labor until 1-2 hours postpartum
Once a woman is in active labor, I join the family, often at home, to labor together until the birth and then provide extra support following the birth.  I provide physical comfort, advocacy and emotional support.  The fee covers 18 hours of support and 1-2 hours postpartum.  (The hours of support beyond 18 are billed at an hourly rate and cap at 30 hours.)

Postpartum follow-up visit
We will meet one or two weeks following the birth to process the birth experience, check on breastfeeding and answer new baby questions.  In addition, I am available for questions as they arise in the days and weeks postpartum.

What Clients Are Saying

Rochelle is the best doula I could have hoped for. Her voice is so soothing, her demeanor so calm, and her coaching so empowering. When laboring, her presence was so valuable to me physically and mentally. She is experienced in her field and truly values birth and motherhood. My husband still talks about how grateful he is for Rochelle and her help during labor. She stepped in when he wasn't sure how to comfort me, and gave him ideas to try. We will absolutely use her as a doula again, should the time come for another baby. -Chelsey
